Amerime is derived from combining America, or American, with the word Anime. Amerime is most often an American Cartoon done in the style of Japanese Animation. Amerime often lacks the graphic violence, and sexuality found in it's Japanese influence. The earliest Amerime came to the United States when producers journeyed to Japan, and were introduced to Japanese Animation. They would record shows, take the footage back, and use it to animate their own works. This was perfectly legal as no copyright agreement existed at the time between Japan, and the United States. Despite the piracy, these early works introduced the American audience to the world of Anime, fathering the Anime craze the notably hit that nation in the early 2000s. This section is not for English Dubs of Japanese Animated Works.
