Winsor McCays first animated work, Little Nemo, also known as Winsor McCay, the Famous Cartoonist of the N.Y. Herald and His Moving Comics was released to theaters on April 8, 1911. The film featured Little Nemo, a character from Winsor McCays Little Nemo in Slumberland, a newspaper comic strip. Only two minutes of the film is actually animated.
