Winky dink and you
Winky Dink and You is an animated TV series that aired on CBS, Saturday Mornings 10:30 a.m. Eastern / 9:30 Central from 1953 to 1957. The series was revilved in syndication for 65 episodes from 1959 to 1973.


Winky Dink has been hailed as the worlds first Interactive Television Series. For fifty cents one could purchase kit that came with a large Vynel plastic sheet, and crayons. A key points in the show Winky Dink would prompt the viewers to complete a connect the dot puzzle that would form something needed for him to continue in the story. For example, a bridge. Winky Dink also featured a decoded system.

Concern rose over X-Ray exposure (a problem found in early Colorized Tubular TV systems), a concern coupled with complaints that children with out the kit where actually drawing on the TV screens, got the show cancelled. It was latter revived in 1959 under Syndication.
